Paul and Charlotte

Barkington Lodge was founded by Paul and Charlotte in April 2025 after they received their boarding licence. Lifelong dog lovers and devoted pet owners, they moved to Tibberton in 2024 with the dream of opening their own dog-boarding business—and were thrilled to discover the perfect property to make it a reality.

Their home and the lifestyle that comes with it have become their passion. They spend their days enjoying the garden, working on projects, growing vegetables, and—most importantly—spending time with their furry visitors in what is now their forever home. They love welcoming new guests and taking them on countryside adventures.

Paul works as a personal trainer in Cheltenham and still travels in most mornings, but he can’t wait to get back to enjoy the walks and playtime with the pups. Charlotte, formerly a holistic therapist, is a master of the perfect tummy rub and takes the lead on all the admin.

Afternoons are for winding down with a cup of tea in front of the log fire and sharing chilled-out puppy time. They truly can’t wait to meet you and your four-legged friend.

Olive and Wilma

Wilma and Olive are our two resident dogs and the heart of Barkington Lodge.

Olive is our 10-year-old working Cocker Spaniel—and she definitely rules the roost. Sweet-natured and affectionate, she’s happiest when she finds the perfect spot for a snooze. Olive welcomes all new canine guests with grace, though she secretly believes that any humans who visit are really here for her. A tasty treat quickly wins her over, and before long she’s fallen in love with her new four-legged friends too.

Wilma, our 3 year old Cockador, is our social butterfly and everybody’s best friend. She’s wonderfully intuitive—she knows when to play gently with puppies and when to entice the older guests into a good chase around the garden to burn off some energy. Her idea of heaven is a belly rub followed by a nap in front of the fire.

Together, they help make Barkington Lodge feel warm, welcoming and full of fun.
